“The Carnival of Technology” is a piece for electronics incorporating several different sequencers and sound types using the program VCV Rack. The base of the piece is centered around two different noises, a deep red noise, and moderate black noise. These set the tone of the static in the are, creating a combination of peace and anxiety that exist in the electronic world surrounding us. As the sequencers come in, one can imagine a room full of computers and flashing lights indicating its functions and computations. There is a siren sweep in the background looming over whatever it could mean. As one moves around this vibrant and monstrous machine, one wonders, is it alive? What are its thoughts and hope? Am I but a machine like this? As the program ends, so do the whirs and whines of this great machine until awoken again from its slumber.
